Day 8

We set off in the morning to the first company, Sunten Company ( 顺特电气厂).

The company was established in 1988, with 2 distribution factory. They produce product that helps to generate electricity and their main products are:

  1. Dry type Transfomer
  2. Ractor
  3. Substance
  4. Switch Gear

Airport and Toyota company electrictity is provided by them. From the sales from these regular customers, they have earn a yearly turnover of $15 billion. They have a total of 1500 employees hired, local employees are hired for 'guanxi' purpose and foreign employees are hired for company stand purpose.

They faced many competitors who are in the same field as them in China and to remain competitive. How? They enusre that they maintain their quality product and also improving their product by introducing Research and Development. Sunten has decided to go into joint venture with a French Company to solve the capital shortage that they are experiencing now.

They have manage to market their product internationally and have increase their overseas customers to 50% from the previously small amout of 10%. They have customers from the Middle East, Malaysia, Iran, Korea, Macau and USA.

I think that the company has really done a good job in able to remain competitive with so many competition. Their customers are very important to them, if they did not improve or maintain their quality, have a good relationship with the customers and not gaining the trust from the customers, they might lose them.

After visiting the company, we went for some sightsee-ing at the Sun Yat Sen Park.

A group of us started to have a some crazy photo taking session. Why do i call it crazy? The pictures below shall tell the story.

it begins with this.

and then this..

finally this..

Everytime a group starts taking photo, more and more people will join in and at the end the photograher/(s) would have lots of cameras on hand.

Saw this cute little boy there.

He was like a star surrounded by his fans wanting to take photo with him.

After our lunch, we proceed our journey to Zhong Shan and visited the Ju Xiang Yuan Factory(咀香园) where the most famous almond biscuit was produced.

We were told of how the almond biscuit was produced from the machine and also manually. Some of us even had a tried. We had a try on their products but many left that place empty handed as Mr Deng told us that we would be bought to a cheaper place tomorrow.

Next we went to the Zhong Shan Touch Trade Development Zone (火炬开发区) which was just a few streets away. Many of us went in there with zero knowledge about what this company is about, some thought its got to be something to do with manufacuring torch or something to do with trains.

At the end it was just a government regulated company which is responsible for developing and orgainsing high tech, professional and services related technology industries, that includes Ju Xiang Yuan, in that whole development area.

It mainly caters to overseas companies. They are going practicing to be more eco-environment, therefore they only accept company that would no cause any pollution to the environment. The place is still developing with many of the industries still in construction.
