DAY 1
Started the journey to Pearl River Delta at Changi Airport with 33 other peers and 3 tutors.
We were asked to reached Changi Airport at 5.30am but we only check in at 6.30 after for our guide, Mr Yao, came to check in for us. Soon, we were on our way to Hong Kong on Cathey Pacific. After 4 hours of flight we had finally arrived in Hong Kong International Airport. The airport was huge, we had to walk a very long way before we reached our coach.
We headed to the conference room upon arrival and was brief by a lady about TDC.
TDC's mission is mainly to create and facilitate opportunties in international trade for Hong Kong companies especially SMEs, manufacturing or non maunfacturing, and to increase number of international firms using HK's trade platform in other words to attract more foreign investors into HK. They provide services and help to the foreign investors who has enquires about anything regarding HK's trade industries, from suppliers, customers to raw materials. They hold outreach programme, incoming mission and trade fairs so that customers could clear all their doubts and also help them to increase investors.
They also have a website(www.tdctrade.com) whereby it provides latest information to investors all over the world.
After our Q and A session we were bought to tour around the building. Our last stop was the library which was located within the building too. The library provides various information and resources regarding trading in HK as well as China.
After touring around the library, free time was given to us in the library. My group decided to use the time to do some research from the books there for more relevent information that would help us in our projects and in the meantime use the time to bond and know each other more.
That was the only company we had to visit on that day, the rest of the time was free and easy for us. A group of us took the time to walk around HK to have a exprience the vibrant nightlife of HK. We walked all the way to the avenue of stars, viewed the brightly lighted city and finding actor/actresses hand prints.
